OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY 2

This session is designed to give participants a knowledge of the Old Testament from 1 Samuel through Song of Solomon.

Goals

The goals of the Old Testament Survey 2 session are to:

1. Identify and understand the key narratives from 1 Samuel through Song of Solomon

2. Understand key themes from 1 Samuel through Song of Solomon

3. Understand where we discover Jesus in 1 Samuel through Song of Solomon

Prep Work

HEAD

• Read/listen: “A House for My Name”, Chapters 4-6- Leithart (3-4 hrs)

• Read/listen: 1 + 2 Samuel, 1 +2 Kings, 1 + 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon (4-5 hrs)

• Exegete: 2 Samuel 7 using the Abbreviated Exegetical Worksheet (30 min)

• Outline: 2 Samuel using the Book Outline Worksheet (30 min)
